MILAN, Italy – Victoria Arduino, one of the global brand leaders in the professional coffee machines sector, has just launched a new product, Eagle Tempo, the professional espresso coffee machine for cafés, restaurants, roasteries, chains, pastry shops and bakeries. We talked about it with Marco Feliziani, Sales Director of Simonelli Group, the company that owns the Victoria Arduino brand.
How does Eagle Tempo fit into the Victoria Arduino range of products?
“All Victoria Arduino products have a very high standard of coffee management, as a raw material. Sustainability, looking after quality coffee and top extraction quality are present in all products of the range.
To define and complete its range of products, Victoria Arduino has decided to cater for the needs of a specialty market that is ever more evolved, differentiated and open to include peripheral areas such as pastry shops, restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops, where coffee is only part of their business, but which must also offer quality at the same level as their core business.
In a great many settings. Coffee is a quality add-on to food products, not only at the same level. Eagle Tempo is the machine that is conceived and designed on the demands of this target.”

What were the strategic and marketing objectives that led you to develop the Victoria Arduino Eagle Tempo?
“In the last few years, we have seen significant improvements in the quality of coffee in the sense of product sales and as a result coffee has powered its way to being part of and enriching what is on offer in restaurants, chains, pastry shops, bakeries and obviously many cafés.
Eagle Tempo combines the iconic brand, the elegant and distinctive design, that characterises the Victoria Arduino range, and high productivity performance, precisely to respond to the demands of these places who will increase their level of sales by offering quality at the same level as their own core business.
For this reason, Victoria Arduino has strengthened its range with a product of recognisable design and high productive capacity, incorporating technology that enables business to go ahead whilst saving energy and reducing waste.”
Eagle Tempo is the latest addition to the range including Black Eagle Maverick, Eagle One and E1 Prima: what characteristic does it have that distinguishes it from a preceding models?
“Eagle Tempo is made for mainstream businesses, who deal with specialty and who are investing heavily in the quality of their products. So they need a brand that is recognised in the specialty world, just like Victoria Arduino, but with functions and characteristics that correspond more precisely with their needs.
This is why Eagle Tempo is available with low or high groups, it has 5 programmable buttons for each group to speed up its operation and it is extremely easy to use, requiring very little staff training. The simple user interface and the software automation provide for very smart operation.
From the touchscreen display you can set the temperature of every group for the production of different drinks to respond quickly at peak times to the demands of an ever more diversified clientèle.
The Autopurge and Easycream technologies speed up the workflow and guarantee quality and consistency in the cup. The Autopurge, i.e., the automatic cleaning of the group after releasing the portafilter, make for faster preparation of drinks and guarantee the cleanliness of the components for a long period with reduced maintenance of the machine itself.
The Easycream technology, on the other hand, enables automatic frothing of milk and plant-based drinks at the right temperature and with the correct dose of cream. All you need to do is press the new steam lever to get the correct milk cream for cappuccinos, flatwhites, American coffees and many other drinks.”
Design is a distinctive characteristic of the Victoria Arduino brand: How important is a professional look for a machine designed for today’s coffee shops?
“Brand choice identifies the orientation of the place of business and the chain in relation to the quality provided, attention to design, commitment to reducing environmental impact. Architects and designers invest a great deal in the quality of the environment, so they are looking for design objects which can contribute to the economic and environmental sustainability of the place.
That is why in Eagle Tempo we have introduced new aesthetic details that make it a contemporary and highly recognisable machine. Eagle Tempo came into being from a restyling of the iconic VA358 White Eagle model with up-to-date and minimal lines and forms.
We have also introduced a base support in stainless steel to reduce the visual impact of the water and electrical connections and to offer clients the “Poetry in Motion” experience. Poetry in Motion explains how the contemporary design of Eagle Tempo corresponds to high productivity and an even simpler and faster workflow.”
Design is all very well, but not at the expense of high levels of performance: simplicity, speed, energy saving and waste reduction. How were you able to combine aesthetics and function in Eagle Tempo?
“Right from the start, Victoria Arduino has always been able to combine value of design with that of performance. That is why the Victoria Arduino NEO (New Engine Optimization) technology has been used for Eagle Tempo, guaranteeing a high level of reactivity and flexibility in the preparation of drinks, temperature stability and consistency of results, thanks to the instant heating system and the boiler insulation.
To respond to the productivity needs of chains, roasters, restaurants, hotels, bakeries and pastry shops, we have installed a steam boiler with an 8-litre capacity that, with NEO technology, enables the preparation of many milk and plant based drinks. The steam boiler in stainless steel is insulated and has an internal pressure of 2.1 bar that, by working with the Steam-by-Wire electronic control, can dispense dry steam for better drink quality and faster preparation.
Victoria Arduino’s design philosophy, that skilfully balances aesthetics, performance and ethics and which led to NEO technology, makes it possible to reduce the environmental impact of the product and to obtain up to 29% energy saving compared to the previous model, the VA358 White Eagle.
As well as the NEO motor the TERS (Thermal Energy Recovering System) has also been added, which is a patented technical solution that is capable of recovering heat from outgoing water to preheat the incoming water thus producing a further 8% saving.”
Speed and productivity are therefore the main qualities of Eagle Tempo. Maybe that’s the origin of the name?
“Exactly, Tempo as in beat and rhythm. Eagle Tempo was created to respect the beat and the rhythm of settings like chains, hotel, restaurants, roasteries, pastry shops and bakeries that offer quality coffee alongside their own products and that choose a recognised brand, like Victoria Arduino, to reinforce the perception of quality that they provide, thanks to the design and performance of Eagle Tempo.”
