VILLORBA, Italy – Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group S.p.A announces that its subsidiary Massimo Zanetti Beverage Iberia has completed the acquisition of the Portuguese company Cafés Nandi SA, operating in the Food Service segment and owner of a production site that will enable the Group to double the current production capacity of the Portuguese plant.
Massimo Zanetti, the Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said:
“I’m proud we have completed the acquisition of Cafés Nandi SA, a company based in Amadora, near Lisbon, which will enable us to expand the existing production site and to double production capacity, during 2019, to meet the growing demand at European level, also for single serves. The new plant will be equipped with cutting-edge technology to take up new challenges and achieve major new expansion goals”.
Founded in 1960, Cafés Nandi SA was the first Portuguese company to achieve environmental standards established by European Union.
Nandi Café is equipped with a modern and efficient plant, adjacent to the current production site of Massimo Zanetti Beverage Iberia, that will enable the Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group to double the current production capacity of the roasting plants, during 2019, to meet growing European demand, also in the capsules segment.
Massimo Zanetti Beverage Iberia SA, owner of the brands Segafredo Zanetti, Nicola and Chave D’Ouro Cafés will become a key industrial pole within the Group.
Furthermore, with the acquisition of Cafés Nandi SA, which operates in the Food service segment under the Nandi brand, Massimo Zanetti Beverage Iberia will increase the number of clients in this channel.
