LONDON, UK – Professor Jonathan Morris, the well-known coffee historian, is partnering with Marco Arrigo, proprietor of Bar Termini, the leading Italian coffee and cocktail bar in Soho, for a master class on the iconic Faema E61 – the coffee machine that changed the world.
Jonathan, Research Professor in History and head of Heritage for Business at the University of Hertfordshire, will draw on his research into the history of Italian coffee, including original documents from Faema now held in the MUMAC historical archive, to demonstrate how the E61 transformed both the taste of espresso, and the culture of the Italian coffee bar.
Marco, who for many years has been Head of Quality for Illy in the UK, and is Director of the Illy University training academy, will demonstrate how to use the machine to produce consistent high quality espresso, and explain how he has developed a contemporary Italian coffee menu to fit with the Bar Termini concept.
The event is sponsored by Mulmar Foodservices, UK distributors for Faema, and the MUMAC Academy, the cultural division of the state of the art coffee machine museum. Book tickets at the Bar Termini website for Tuesday 16 Feb or Wednesday 17 Feb 10:30-13:00.
