HELSINKI – Meira, the Finnish company part of Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group is the second most sustainable brand in the beverage sector according to the Sustainable Brand Index. Sustainable Brand Index is a brand research company on sustainability within the business-to-consumer market in Finland, Nordic countries and Baltics. It is based on a market research done among Finnish consumers and shows how brands are perceived regarding their environmental and social responsibility.
Meira and sustainability
According to the study, consumers are becoming more and more aware of sustainability. They appreciate especially domestic production, recycling, the reuse of old material and climate action.
Meira’s sustainability agenda is based on UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). It covers the designing and production of tasty and sustainable products, science-based climate actions, Vallila factory’s environmentally friendly operations and being a good workplace. In 2022, Meira will commit to the procurement of 100% certified green coffee and publish its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets which will be in line with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
