Café El Marino, one of the leading coffee companies in Mexico, will be presented at the Industrial Fair of Hannover Messe in Germany (April 23-27), where it plans to promote its product to the European market.
Jesús Brito, director of Coffee Systems El Marino, said that its plant in Mazatlan is 40 percent automated with technology from the German firm Siemens, which has allowed it to standardize their processes and generate savings given the energy efficiency it provides.
For example, he said, they have observed up to 50 percent savings in biomass gas, where coffee bagasse is reused to produce steam and hot water, which is reused in the manufacturing process.
He stressed that digitization is an important point in the efficiency of this sector and in particular of the plant in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, since its devices and machinery are connected to Big Data, which in this industry control is important.
“It is currently 40 percent automated and by 2019 it is planned to automate its process to produce soluble coffee,” Brito said in a statement.
The company produces more than three thousand tons per year of soluble for export. 70 percent of its production goes to the markets of the United States, Korea, Peru, Colombia and Puerto Rico, among others.
In 2018, they have the extraction project with Siemens technology that is expected to increase its capacity of soluble production by 10 percent and the goal is to increase its national production by up to 30 percent, he said.
For his part, Iván Pelayo, Vice President of Digital Factory, Process Industries and Drives of Siemens Mexico and Central America, stressed that the entry of Mexican companies to the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution, allows them to be more competitive and increase their level of production.
He stressed that the Hannover Messe industrial fair will be an important platform for Mexican companies to show their production capacity and technology and also their products to the European market.
