WEST CHICAGO, IL, U.S. – The team behind www.Modest.coffee announced the grand opening of their nationwide roasted-to-order coffee delivery service and their first brick-and-mortar space in the Chicagoland area.

Modest Coffee started in the fall of 2013 as a project to connect coffee drinkers with higher quality coffee beans. Their coffees are roasted on demand and delivered as a subscription service or as single bags.

In addition to the grand opening of their coffee delivery service, they are opening their first brick and mortar space, a public/private partnership with the library in the Chicago Suburb of Sugar Grove.

The Modest Coffee Café will serve healthy and organic foods, roasted coffee, and nitrogen infused cold brew on tap.

About Modest Coffee

Modest Coffee started roasting because founders Jenni and Marcus experienced that most specialty coffee sold online had shipping costs that made it too expensive to buy regularly.

After years of roasting at home, in the fall of 2013 they bought a commercial coffee roaster and set out to accomplish three goals:

1. To support sustainable growing practices by sourcing from higher quality coffee producers.
2. To keep costs down and use environmentally friendly packaging.
3. To provide the best value by offering free shipping on coffee.

Their soft launch attracted enough customers to pay for their rented space and the project took off. Since launch their customer base has grown by word of mouth to hundreds of customers across the country. Local demand prompted their expansion into wholesale, private label, corporate catering, and collaborations.

In 2016, they released a cold brew bottled product and a delivery service for kegs of their nitrogen infused cold brew.

Modest Coffee has collaborated with local artists, brewers to make coffee beer, served coffee all night at the high tech hub “1871” in Chicago and were flown to the Paypal corporate headquarters in Silicon Valley to serve their coffee for the 2014 World Battlehack Finals.
