MILAN – Cardiff City FC announce their global partnership with Mondelez International, owner of Cadbury. This partnership will see the nation’s favourite chocolate brand become the club’s official snacking partner. In coming together in this way, the partnership celebrates the similarities and shared values of the two brands – bringing people together, creating and sharing moments of happiness, as well as celebrating and supporting local communities.
Cadbury is proud to build its collaboration with Cardiff City Football Club, leveraging its core pillar of generosity to support South Wales’ local community. Specifically, the partnership will be focussing on supporting local Welsh heroes through the Positive Pathways Project.
This impressive programme aims to support veterans who are at high risk of social isolation and loneliness in Cardiff and its surrounding areas.
The project connects veterans through weekly sessions held at Cardiff city stadium, providing them with structure and support through a range of activities that improve physical and mental wellbeing. Cadbury are thrilled to support this through the donation of key media assets, including hospitality, match tickets, stadium experiences, as well as player meet and greet opportunities.
Cardiff City FC Foundation Director, Gavin Hawkey, said: “The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic highlighted the greater need to support those at risk of social isolation. Loneliness is a significant public health issue and we know that rates of loneliness among people in the UK were particularly high during periods of lockdown. I’m really pleased that this partnership can help us bring even more people together and reduce social isolation and loneliness.’’
Colin O’Toole, Associate Director of Marketing of Cadbury Equity also added: “We are thrilled to be working alongside Cardiff City FC and welcome them to the Cadbury FC family. We are proud to support the club’s foundation and the amazing community work the club is undertaking during this challenging time. We look forward to working closely with the club to demonstrate Cadbury’s ethos of generosity.
