ESINE, Italy – “It is, of course, a real source of pride for us to showcase the quality of our products to more than 26 million buyers coming from all around the world and, hence, have the chance to approach many new markets; at the same time, it is a tangible sign of all the efforts we have made regarding the internationalization of companies and the digital shift in export strategies, important and relevant nowadays.
These are the words of Mr. Pietro Morandini, the owner, together with his brother Vigilio, of the roasting company of the same name located in Brescia Province, northern Italy, which reflect a specific vision: combining attention to the selection of the best raw materials and the quality of the product with a precise contemporary business attitude which can look ahead, facing new challenges and seizing opportunities.
Caffè Morandini and Alibaba
These are two of the pillars of the company’s philosophy, maintained and pursued even, and above all, in the current difficult situation, which have permitted the company to gain a special place in an exclusive section of Alibaba Group’s B2B Marketplace: Alibaba.com’s “Made in Italy Pavilion”.
Resulting from a partnership agreement between Alibaba Group and ITA, the Italian Trade Agency, the “Made in Italy Pavilion” is a special section on the platform Alibaba.com, which is entirely dedicated to Made in Italy products.
This digital showcase hosts more than 300 companies in the agri-food industry, which were selected thanks to the support of the Italian Trade Agency, benefitting from a 2-year membership where they can, above all, take advantage of a structure that connects more than 26 million buyers from 190 different countries to sell their products and, secondly, gain access to a number of education programs taught by Alibaba.com’s qualified staff, designed to help them improve their online sales’ strategies and performance.
Caffè Morandini is part of this reality and has earned, deservedly, this extraordinary opportunity. A special place on the platform, together with more than 300 companies in the Food & Beverage industry, to represent, with its coffee, the Made in Italy brand on one of the most important digital showcases worldwide, demonstrating great ambition, international expansion, and innovation.
The agreement signed between Alibaba Group and ITA is, in fact, part of a larger international project, a real boost for Italian companies’ digital export strategies, SMEs in particular, framed within the so-called “Patto per l’Export”, an official agreement signed at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation by the main Italian business associations in June 2020 to give an extra impetus to the Made in Italy brand in the world.
