MILAN, Italy – As the World of Coffee 2023 comes to an end, BWT reflects on the actions done both during the 3 days of exhibition, as well as the Barista Base Camp in the week preceding the competitions. 15 days of hard work, of cooperation with local partners as well as co-sponsors of the World Barista Championship, of strengthening of relations with Sca organization.

These are the main objectives set by the group and amply reached during the last weeks. The first success by the BWT water+more International Team was the positive organization of the Barista Base Camp, together with local partner Eurogat and the other co-sponsors of the WBC : Barista Attitude, Victoria Arduino, Caffetto, Alpro and Scotsman.
In the week preceding the competitions, over 40 baristas from all over the world were welcomed to the Eurogat headquarters in Athens where 3 practice stations were set up with the official equipment of the WBC, and the same exact conditions were created that would then be found onstage : water, machine, grinder. An important occasion for them to test ahead of time their extractions and play around with the equipment in order to find the perfect setting.
BWT water+more was on hand to provide consistent water quality, the same that would be found in the competition.
Numerous baristas were happy to acknowledge that notwithstanding the distance, the same exact water quality that was found the year before in Melbourne was repeated in Athens, a feat that no other manufacturer was able to accomplish so successfully before today. So no element of surprise on this front, just perfect water for the best extraction in the cup.
During the 3 days of exhibition, the group divided its resources to follow attentively 2 important actions.
First and foremost a strong presence with its booth in Hall 3, welcoming customers to see the full product range and taste the BWT optimized water both as water for coffee as well as drinking water. In fact, with its vaste knowledge in global water filtration technologies the group can satisfy any need in the Horeca sector, from cartridges to special BWT water+more reverse osmosis systems, up to water dispensers.
Another presence was for sure behind the scenes, but for this not less important. The R&D team of BWT transferred all the water filtration equipment to the backstage practice area in order to provide optimized water for the World Barista Championship, allowing all the competitors to clearly see for themselves the absolute consistency of the water quality provided in the 3 days.
This same water was also provided to all the exhibitors in World of Coffee through 2 filling stations located in the exhibition.
