MILAN — MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is pleased to be returning to Cumbre Mundial de Cacao, the annual world cocoa summit in Guayaquil, Ecuador, on 20-22 May.
Over the years, our local teams in Latin America have developed a strong expertise in all of the aspects related to cocoa transportation. At the summit, MSC experts will explain how we safely and reliably transport cargo from loading to final destination through our network of road, rail and sea transport. Our reliability and expertise in carrying sensitive commodities such as cocoa has helped make MSC the largest carrier of cocoa exports from Ecuador, South America’s largest producer and exporter.
At MSC, we understand the sensitivity required in the care of cocoa beans throughout their journey. We work closely with exporters, brokers and importers to ensure the commodity arrives in the very best conditions possible. Our extensive knowledge and experience tells us that cocoa beans should be shipped shortly after harvest, as extended storage (>6 months) may result in losses due to the high relative humidity in the tropics. It’s this understanding which means we’re able to guide our customers in shipment options of either containerized or conventional.
MSC is delighted to sponsor this annual event in its sixth year and we look forward to speaking with exporters, brokers and buyers from around the world at this important international summit.
