Mzb Group strengthens its presence in Brazil through the acquisition of Café Pacaembu

VILLORBA, Treviso – Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group S.p.A., listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, holding of a worldwide Group leading in the production, processing and marketing of roasted coffee, announced today that its Brazilian subsidiary has acquired Café Pacaembu Ltda. Known for the brand Café Pacaembu and owner of a production site with cutting-edge technology, the acquisition strengthens the Group’s presence in Brazil.

Massimo Zanetti, the Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said:

“Brazil is an interesting market: it is the world’s largest producer and exporter of coffee and the second largest consumer market in the world, with high growth rates. The acquisition of Café Pacaembu which, with over 60 years of history, represents the traditional coffee of Brazil, will allow our Group to seize growth opportunities in Brazil.”

About Café Pacaembu

Founded in 1957, Café Pacaembu Ltda is one of the most traditional brands in San Paolo and, in a highly fragmented market, still represents one of the best know coffees, recently ranked number one for best “extra strong” of Brazil.

The company is equipped with a modern and efficient plant for the production of ground coffee and single serve to meet the growing Brazilian demand.

The current management team and one of the company’s founder, will continue to lead the company, with the aim to ensure operating continuity.

With this acquisition, Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group’s revenues in Brazil in 2019 will be approximately 130 million Reais.
