NEW YORK, NY, U.S. — The National Coffee Association USA (NCA) released the following statement today in response to the announcement that the US Government will be withdrawing its membership in the International Coffee Organization:
“It has been announced that the US Government will be withdrawing from the International Coffee Organization (ICO).
As we noted in a letter we submitted to the US Government last year, we believe that the ICO is a valuable and important platform for multinational cooperation within the global coffee sector.
Despite this withdrawal, the National Coffee Association, USA, continues to support the ICO, and will continue to participate, as a private sector organization, in the future work of the ICO.” – William “Bill” Murray, President & CEO, NCA
