Motorists driving across Nairobi were recently united with a taste of NESCAFÉ coffee as part of the newly launched ‘Nescafé ‘Random Act of Kindness’ initiative by Nestlé Kenya. The new initiative supplements the on-going campaign, ‘It All Start with a Nescafé’ and aims to encourage Kenyans to randomly be kind to one another, everywhere, and in the simplest way possible.
To kick-start the initiative, the NESCAFÉ team as from 6.00am to 9.00am, warmed the day for hundreds of motorists across Nairobi’s busiest routes including: University Way, Kenyatta Avenue, Haile Selassie, Nyayo National Stadium and Kenyatta National hospital roundabouts; with a free cup of coffee.
“Africa is said to be the home of kindness and NESCAFÉ is taking this a notch higher by encouraging Kenyans to practice ‘random act of kindness’ in some simple ways like complimenting a stranger they meet in a matatu, sharing an umbrella when it’s raining, preparing a meal for a homeless person, picking up trash, sharing or buying lunch in the office among others,” said Svetlana Obruchkova, Managing Director, Nestlé Kenya.
“I like the initiative. With all the negative actions and news going on in our country -we need to be kind to one another. Peace, love and kindness will unite us,” said Sandra Chemutai, a motorist along University Way adding that she will pass on the kind act to another person.
Through sampling of free Nescafé coffee to motorists and more to come, Nestlé Kenya hopes that more and more Kenyans will see the need to be kind to one another and help create caring communities that value generosity and kindness toward others as essential parts of a healthy community.
