SYDNEY, Australia – Nescafé has launched Nescafé Nativ Cascara, a new on-trend adult social beverage created from upcycled coffee berry husks. Nescafé Nativ Cascara appeals to Australians who, while mindful of their choices, want a delicious, sophisticated drink they can enjoy with friends any time. This new caffeinated beverage is made with the upcycled husk after farmers separate and sun-dry the coffee berry. Usually discarded in coffee harvesting, using the cascara husk in this way not only reduces waste, but also provides growers with a new revenue stream.

Once brewed, cascara is neither a coffee nor tea, but its own unique beverage with floral and fruity notes, containing less naturally-occurring caffeine than roasted coffee, but still with a naturally refreshing uplift.

Nescafé Nativ team have infused the cascara base with natural, Australian native botanicals. The result is a refreshing, lightly sparkling, caffeinated beverage available in three flavours: Classic, Kakadu Plum and Lemon Myrtle & Pepperberry.

Nescafé Nativ Cascara can be enjoyed on its own as a refreshing, non-alcoholic beverage or as a mixer in cocktails!

Martin Brown, Director – eBSM, Nestlé said: “Over the past year, as Australian lifestyle habits and behaviours continue to change, we’ve seen people increasingly seek out food and beverage alternatives that have their own unique story and flavor.

So, we’re thrilled to be leading the charge in this space by launching new Nescafé Nativ Cascara.

It’s entirely unique to Australia, using local native ingredients and the upcycled coffee berry husk from the coffee farming process to create a refreshing ready-to-drink caffeinated beverage which can really be enjoyed in any social occasion.”

Nescafé Nativ Cascara is made in Australia from 99 per cent Australian ingredients, with cascara husks sourced from Mexican and Bolivian coffee farms. The beverages are bottled in recyclable packaging with paper labels.

Nescafé Nativ Cascara ambassador (MC) said: “Personally, I’m always on the lookout for new drinks to enjoy when out and about with friends. It’s so exciting to see a product like NESCAFÉ NATIV Cascara launch, particularly with its unique Australian twist. It’s something I can definitely enjoy at a mid-morning picnic on its own, or at evening drinks in a cocktail!”

The three flavours of Nescafé Nativ Cascara are available in-store across Australia at IGA as well as online at Amazon.com.au. To learn more about the product and its story, visit https://www.nestle.com.au/en/brands/cascara.
