Nestlé inaugurated on Wednesday a new Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsule production line in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam.
The site will process an expected 2,500 tons of coffee per year (equivalent to 130 million capsules), using high quality coffee beans from Vietnam. This volume is expected to increase in the coming years.
The investment reflects Nestlé’s clear focus on high-growth, high-margin categories, including coffee. It also meets the growing trend towards coffee drinking in many countries in Asia.
The new production site will provide Vietnamese coffee lovers with great products using indigenous beans.
At the same time, approximately 90% of the Nescafé Dolce Gusto output from the Dong Nai facility will be exported to other markets in Asia including Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Indonesia.
Nestlé is currently the leading coffee buyer in Vietnam with an annual purchase volume of 20-25% of total coffee production output in the nation.
The company has committed to enhance the value of Vietnamese coffee and agricultural produce in general through production, processing and export.
