AMSTERDAM – The fascinating multimedia exhibition “For the love of chocolate” was opened on Tuesday 19 November by award winning photojournalist Kadir van Lohuizen and UTZ’s long-lasting partner Solidaridad at Amsterdam’s National Maritime Museum.

Also presented at this event was KPMG’s impact study “Moving the Bars” on the achievements of the Cocoa Improvement Programme by IDH, Solidaridad and UTZ Certified.

The exhibition “For the love of chocolate”, which will run from 20 November through 16 February 2014, focuses attention on increasing the sustainability of cocoa production worldwide. It opens up new perspectives, but also shows the challenges we face before sustainable farming is the norm.

The penetrating photos and video material that Kadir van Lohuizen took of the journey made by cocoa beans and the numerous portraits of people who work in cocoa and chocolate production were built into a multimedia exhibition by designer Jeroen de Vries.

With this, Solidaridad intends to increase support for sustainable cocoa production in the chocolate sector and wishes to support partners like UTZ Certified and companies who want to use this story to involve their employees, customers and consumers in sustainable cocoa production.
