MOSCOW – With Italian gourmet store Eataly opening its doors for the first time in Russia on May 25th in Moscow, authentic Italian quality coffee is now available for visitors to experience at Lavazza’s new café.

Eataly is the world’s largest marketplace for Italian gourmet food and wine, offering high quality products and specialties.

The cooperation between Lavazza and Eataly continues with an important European opening after the most recent one in Copenhagen, in November 2016.

On May 25th, Eataly Moscow opens its doors inside the Kievsky complex, opposite to the namesake railway station: a luxurious store measuring over 7500 square meters, which will host 2,800 visitors daily.

Both Lavazza and Eataly have their roots in the Italian region of Piedmont, where Turin is located and, similarly, the two companies have a common passion for quality, authenticity and the pursuit of excellence in everything they do. All of these are common traits and important values of the Italian culture, strongly linked to food and its origins.

Lavazza’s presence within Eataly has been established in 2010, with openings in locations such as New York, Chicago, Boston, Milano Smeraldo, Copenaghen and Sao Paulo (Brazil). The next openings, besides Moscow, are planned for Los Angeles and FICO Eataly World in Bologna, Italy.

Gloria Bagdadli, Global Head of Marketing Retailing for Lavazza, stated: “Providing authentic Italian coffee experiences is at the core of Lavazza’s DNA. We are thrilled to inaugurate a Lavazza café at the new Eataly in Kievsky in Moscow, which brings a small piece of Italy to Russia. This is the latest step in our solid and long-standing partnership with a company that shares strong, common values with us.” Russia, for Lavazza, is a market of great strategic importance, not only because of the country’s love for coffee but also for their growing interest in specialty products and authentic experiences.

The Lavazza café at Eataly Moscow, placed at the heart of the new store, is encircled by a glass wall, allowing the light to play with spectacular effects. Suspended light fixtures and design pieces of furniture enrich the lounge area, creating a combination of reflecting lights and shining gold, bronze and silver chrome plating. The bar itself recalls the same precious materials, pairing glass and brass.

The elegance of Italian style is also reflected in the walls, enriched by a stone mosaic in the shades of light brown, making the space refined and welcoming at the same time. Seating is designed for the comfortable, slow and accurate service Lavazza wants to offer to its guests, with the warm tones and colors of coffee plantations.

The space displays the shots of photography master Steve McCurry, dedicated to the Tierra Origins project and representing the coffee growing communities of Brazil and Tanzania, where Lavazza selects its highest quality coffee origins.

The Lavazza café is dedicated to providing guests with an authentic, high quality Italian coffee experience, serving ¡Tierra! Selection, the new premium Lavazza coffee blend with an intense taste, made with sustainable quality coffee from Rainforest Alliance certified farms, which combines the excellence of the product with environmental and social sustainability.

A range of premium Lavazza products, such as ¡Tierra!, is also available for sale inside the Eataly market.
