The NZ Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) is holding the 2014 AeroPress NZ Brewers Cup on 10 May.
Entries are now open for the event, taking place at Coffee Supreme, 35 Hopper St, Wellington Central.
The AeroPress NZ Brewers Cup competition highlights the craft of filter coffee brewing by hand, promoting manual coffee brewing, and service excellence. The competition is held in strict accordance with the world event.
In this event, competitors prepare and serve three individual beverages for a panel of judges. During the first round competitors complete two coffee services – a compulsory service and an open service.
For the compulsory service, competitors prepare three beverages, utilising whole bean coffee provided to them by the competition.
For the open service, competitors can utilise any whole bean coffee of their choosing and must accompany their beverage preparation with a presentation.
The competitor with the highest score will be named the 2014 AeroPress NZ Brewers Cup Champion.
All competitiors will need to be on site by 8am for the compulsory service practice times & compulsory service section of the championship.

The AeroPress NZ Brewers Cup Champion will represent New Zealand at the World Brewers Cup in Rimini, Italy, taking place from 10 – 12 June.
