Premium bakery-cafe brand, Muffin Break, has been acknowledged by the best of the best in New Zealand’s coffee industry, winning a top-gong at the 2014 Golden Bean Awards.
Muffin Break was announced Overall Champion in the Chain Store / Coffee Franchise category of the 9th annual Compak Golden Bean Coffee Roaster Competition event, recently held over four days in October at Port Macquarie, Australia.

Outclassing its competitors in a blind taste-test, Muffin Break’s proprietary coffee blend was singled-out by the event judges and contributed to its overall top-score win in the highly-competitive best Coffee Franchise category.

The Muffin Break franchise brand is owned by The Foodco Group, which also owns and exclusively uses Jahnus Specialty Coffee, run under the leadership of Jahnus Head Coffee Roaster, Jeremy Regan.

Muffin Break General Manager New Zealand, Garry Croft, said the Golden Bean accolades are the upshot of an unrelenting commitment to quality by the Muffin Break team – particularly Jeremy Regan.

“To be named Overall Champion in the world’s largest competition for coffee roasters is a significant and well-deserved tribute.

“From our Head Coffee Roaster Jeremy Regan who constantly fine-tunes the Muffin Break signature blend, to the café baristas who ensure each cup is served to the highest standard, I am truly delighted with this recognition of a very deserving and dedicated team,” said Mr Croft.

The Muffin Break signature blend can be enjoyed at more than 280 Muffin Break outlets trading across New Zealand, Australia and internationally. The award-winning blend is also available for purchase in take-home packs.

Muffin Break now comprises more than 280 cafés across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and India.
