Kirbya Nintendo character (in the picture by kirbycafe) created in the early 90s, featured in his last video game in April of this year. And to celebrate the little pink ball, Nintendo intends to dedicate several cafes to it.

According to this website, three restaurants will open in Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo in August 2016. No doubt everything will be very pink. On the menu: various dishes, pastries and drinks sporting very kawaii colours.

Japan is famed for its themed establishments. After Pikachu and Barbapapa coffee shops, it is Kirby’s face that’s going to end up on cakes and other delicacies.

In the games, the character usually swallows his enemies – and loads more – to absorb their powers: it seems logical, then, to dedicate a restaurant to the little guy.

Kirby’s face will appear on macaroons, on a shrimp curry shaped like Popstar, the planet it comes from, or on pasta salads and teriyaki noodles.

There is even a soup that is reminiscent of “Maxim tomato,” the tomato with a big M that restores Kirby’s powers in video games.

Of course, Nintendo also plans to sell all kinds of Kirby-themed goodies such as mugs, magnets and tote bags.

It is not yet known whether the multinational company wishes to extend this concept to other countries. Fans of the pink ball will just have to make the trip to Japan for now
