HAMBURG, Germany – August 19th is the World Orangutan day – every year. The Orangutan, an inhabitant of rich tropical forests, is a tragic victim of the palm oil industry. The clearing of rainforest by the pulp- and palm oil industry during the last decades has brought these magnificent creatures to the verge of extinction.

The World Orangutan Day has been established to raise awareness of their plight with the goal to protect their habitat, the tropical rainforest.

Orangutans are only found in two places in the world, namely on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. As Orangutans spend 90% of their time foraging for food in the treetops, deforestation is particularly devastating for them.

The World Orangutan Day raises awareness of the fact that these people of the forest request urgent protection to prevent their disappearance from our Earth forever.

People at Orang Utan Coffee inform their customers and followers of the project about this special and important day on Social Media and with their Newsletter.

Thank to their over 60 roasters worldwide they can contribute to the fight against extinction. Everyone can support by drinking Orang Utan Coffee and doing good – every day.

Let’s join forces to save orangutans!
