DUBAI, UAE – The much-awaited Salon du Chocolat et de la Pâtisserie Dubai will be welcoming 7,000 visitors from September 18-20, 2024, at the exclusive Madinat Jumeirah. The grand event, which this year celebrates its third edition, is set to bring together 360 international and local brands, represented by 120 exhibitors.

This year, Salon du Chocolat et de la Pâtisserie Dubai is privileged to welcome guest of honor Guillaume Gomez, personal representative of the President of the French Republic for food and gastronomy.

Joumana Damous-Salamé, managing director of HSME, the organizer of the show, emphasized the event’s significance: “The event fosters collaboration, innovation and networking across the entire industry. Also taking place is The Coffee in Good Spirits Championship. Organized in collaboration with the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association-UAE), the competition highlights the skills of baristas and barkeepers in creating innovative coffee and spirit blends. Barista and mixologist, CIGS World Champion and gastronomy consultant Victor Del Pierre said: “I am very honored to be part of the Salon du Chocolat et de la Patisserie Dubai. What’s magical about chocolate is the diversity of tastes thanks to its origins, terroirs and percentages of cocoa. Indeed, Salon du Chocolat et de la Pâtisserie Dubai will feature 43 different competitions and masterclasses, including the Best 3D Cake Design, Best Chocolate Showpiece, and the KITKAT Dessert Challenge. TORONTO, Canada – As part of Tims growing online retail collection, Tim Hortons now has its first-ever selection of Tims-inspired pet toys on TimShop.ca.

Available now fur purchase for $12.99 (plus tax) each, are two plushy and squeaky dog toys: a Timbits box – a nod to some of our biggest Old Fashioned Plain Timbit fans – and an iconic red Tims coffee cup.

Just in time for National Dog Day on Aug. 26, guests will also be able to purchase the two toys at participating Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada. And coming later this fall, TimShop.ca will also offer Tims-branded cat toys and additional dog toys.

DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania – The African Fine Coffees Association (AFCA) and the Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB) are pleased to announce that Tanzania will host the 21st edition of the African Fine Coffees Conference and Exhibition (AFCC&E) from February 26-28, 2025, in Dar es Salaam. This announcement was officially made yesterday during the event launch at the Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel. This marks Tanzania’s fourth time hosting this prestigious event, following previous editions in 2011, 2016, and 2019.

The AFCC&E, Africa’s largest coffee trade platform, annually attracts over 2,000 regional and international coffee professionals, including producers, traders, roasters, as well as public and private sector officials, and government representatives.

SUZHOU, China – From August 16 to 18, 2024, the judging panel of the International Institute of Coffee Tasters (IIAC) from Italy, alongside Chinese domestic coffee connoisseurs, gathered at the BeanStar headquarters in Suzhou for the 2024 International Coffee Tasting Competition (ICT), one of the most prestigious events in the global coffee landscape. Over 200 meticulously selected coffee beans from multiple countries underwent a rigorous and discerning tasting process, vying for the coveted accolades in the world of coffee excellence.

Often referred to as the “Oscars” of the coffee world, the ICT is dedicated to discovering the world’s finest coffees, showcasing their exceptional cultivation, meticulous selection, expert roasting, and distinctive originality. The competition’s unwavering commitment to transparency, with blind tasting and data verification under strict sensory analysis rules, positions ICT as the sole competition worldwide that calculates scores on measurable and controllable product attributes.
