GARDEN GROVE, Calif., USA – IGadgets is pleased to announce its collaboration with Brezi, introducing Brezi, the transformative cold brew coffee maker designed for the modern coffee enthusiast. Brezi redefines the cold brew experience by delivering espresso-like strength and flavor in just five minutes—shattering expectations of traditional cold brewing methods.

This innovative device combines speed with precision to offer a rich, robust cold brew that rivals the intensity of espresso, all at the touch of a button.

Brezi: The cold brew maker for espresso-strength concentrate in just 5 minutes

Traditional cold brew methods, often taking 12-15 hours, are a thing of the past. Brezi revolutionizes this process with its cutting-edge Thermo Flex™ Technology, delivering delicious, full-flavored cold brew in mere minutes.

This groundbreaking approach includes three key stages:

1. Barista Bloom: Leveraging precise temperature control, Brezi starts with a Barista Bloom that releases CO₂ from the coffee grounds, enhancing the extraction of aromatic compounds and essential oils with a 2:1 water-to-coffee ratio.
2. Instant Cooling: Immediately following the bloom, Brezi’s innovative semiconductor chip rapidly cools the water, preparing it for extraction. This ice-cold water brew preserves the coffee’s natural sweetness and avoids the bitterness.
3. Kyoto Drip Technique: Brezi precisely drips cold water over coffee grounds, maintaining a constant flow of fresh water to actively extract soluble. This technique ensures a superior flavor profile unmatched by traditional immersion methods.

Healthier and more convenient cold brew

Brezi offers a healthier alternative to traditional espresso, delivering the same robust flavor with significantly lower acidity and bitterness. Many appreciate espresso for its rich intensity, but its high acidity can be tough on the stomach. Brezi’s innovative cold brew technology matches espresso’s strength without the associated stomach discomfort, ideal for those who love strong coffee but dislike the acidity.

Additionally, Brezi is designed for ultimate convenience. Set up is as simple as adding water and coffee grounds and selecting your desired brewing profile. Thanks to its quiet operation, Brezi ensures a peaceful brewing experience, perfect for home or office use, making premium coffee effortlessly accessible.

Unlock a personalized brewing experience

Brezi isn’t just about convenience and speed; it’s about crafting coffee to your exact preferences. With customizable settings like brew temperature, coffee-to-water ratio, and bloom time, you have the control to fine-tune every aspect of your brew. Tailor your coffee experience to perfection and explore endless possibilities, ensuring that every cup of Brezi cold brew is crafted exactly to your liking.

MILAN – Another day of strong gains for the coffee markets: yesterday, Wednesday 7th August, New York and London gained 4.4% and 2.2% respectively, closing at their highest levels since 12th and 22nd July.

The Ice Arabica contract for September delivery closed at 246.30 cents, up 1,035 points from Tuesday. September Ice Robusta coffee gained $98 to settle at $4,481.

Both coffee markets were driven higher by weather reports from Brazil, where a cold front arriving next weekend could drop temperatures below zero in southern Minas Gerais on Sunday 11th.

According to Amanda Souza of Metereo Brasil, the frost will occur in limited areas, but could be severe.

The news further pushed up the markets, which were already on edge over the reduced prospects for production in Brazil and Vietnam.

In New York, there was a slight increase in certified stocks, which stood at 826,444 bags yesterday, of which 697,727 are Transition Stock.

More than half of the stock (418,116 bags) held against the New York market is coffee of Brazilian origin. A further 121,381 bags is coffee from Honduras.

Meanwhile, preliminary data released by the Brazilian government indicate that the country’s green coffee exports reached a total of 3,371,100 bags in July, up 44% from the same month last year.

Cecafé will release full data on Brazilian coffee exports next week.

Smaller Arabica coffee beans may affect the final volume harvested by Brazil, Cepea

CEPEA Brazil harvest Arabica robusta

SAO PAULO, Brazil – The Arabica coffee harvesting is close to the end; therefore, many producers have been trying to standardize the batches, due to the major bottleneck of the 2024/25 season: small-sized coffee beans. Players surveyed by Cepea say that this aspect may affect the final volume harvested by Brazil in the 2024/25 crop.

Players have been complaining about small-sized coffee beans since the beginning of the season. They expected that their size would increase as the harvesting advances, which has not been occurring. It is worth noting that weather conditions have been a challenge in the Central-Southern area in Brazil since the flowering.

As for robusta, there also have been reports of small-sized coffee beans, which can affect the final volume of the crop and the formation of batches that had already been contracted.

The price average for arabica coffee in July is the highest in real terms (IGP-DI June/24) since February 2022. The CEPEA/ESALQ Index for the arabica coffee type 6, delivered in São Paulo, averaged BRL 1,419.72 per 60-kilo bag, 5.22% more than in June/24 and 73.2% above that verified in the same month of 2023.

Prices oscillated in July. The sector is focused on the volume supplied by Brazil and on the possible robusta crop failure in Vietnam, due to unfavorable weather conditions. Moreover, the Brazilian currency is devalued against the US dollar, which affects world quotations, mainly for arabica.

As for robusta, the CEPEA/ESALQ Index for the type 6 closed at BRL 1,302.61 per 60-kilo bag on July 23, the highest value since November 2001, in real terms (IGP-DI June/24). The average of July was BRL 1,270.41 per 60-kilo bag, also the highest of Cepea series, upping 4.6% compared to June and 95.66% in relation to July/23.

Nespresso USA launches a range of honey products harvested from coffee plants

NEW YORK, USA – Nespresso USA is introducing Nespresso Bloom, the brand’s first range of honey products, harvested from the same coffee plants used to produce Nespresso coffees. The new honey-based offerings are a testament to Nespresso’s commitment to transitioning to regenerative agriculture practices.

“Supporting responsible practices in coffee farming has always been part of Nespresso’s DNA, and this pilot is a result of how sustainability is fueling our innovation strategy,” said Alfonso Gonzalez Loeschen, CEO, Nespresso North America. “Our job is to protect the future of coffee while delivering a differentiated and superior coffee experience, which is what we know our customers are excited by. Nespresso Bloom is just that, as a first-of-its-kind offering for us.”

As honey continues to pop up on #coffeetok and in coffee shops nationwide as a deliciously refined way to sweeten your morning cup, the Nespresso Bloom range offers coffee drinkers a new way to elevate the flavor of their coffee and meals.

Harvested from the same flowers as the coffee of Nespresso Master Origins Colombia capsule, the first two products from the Nespresso Bloom range offer endless possibilities for pairing with coffee, pastries, breakfast bites and more:

  • Coffee Blossom Honey is a raw honey with delicate floral flavor and velvety, smooth, caramel and vanilla notes that perfectly complements Nespresso coffee. Beyond beverages, the Coffee Blossom Honey is perfect for drizzling on affogato, yogurt, whipped ricotta and more.
  • Coffee Blossom Honey Syrup is the golden blend of the exclusive Coffee Blossom Honey infused with Nespresso coffee, designed to easily enhance customers’ favorite recipes. It adds a refined coffee flavor with velvety, smooth, caramel and vanilla notes to macchiatos, espresso martinis and even waffles.

Nespresso: New products, same commitment to sustainable coffee sourcing

For 20 years, the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality Program has been working directly with coffee farmers to improve the quality of their coffee and protect their land for the future through sustainable agriculture practices to help ensure they have a fair income for years to come.

Because bees play an integral role in the production of coffee cherries, the threat of climate change and other factors like usage of pesticides are putting bees – and coffee – at risk. While climate change threatens biodiversity and the livelihoods of coffee farmers, Nespresso is committed to ensuring a quality coffee crop can survive in future generations.

Given Nespresso’s long history of working with coffee farmers between the hills of the Andes Mountains in the Caldas-Antioquia region of Colombia, the region is ripe to pilot this kind of innovation. The country possesses the highest number of AAA farms that are Rainforest Alliance certified and the farmers are particularly engaged in exploring regenerative agriculture practices, like beekeeping.

Since 2020, Nespresso has been working with UBEES to integrate beehives and monitoring technology on Nespresso AAA farms in Caldas. With UBEES, Nespresso helps farmers become beekeepers to further regenerative agriculture efforts, promote natural pollination of the coffee plants and increase farmers’ earning potential.

How to get a taste of the sweet stuff

The products will first be available exclusively in Nespresso Boutiques in New York City (Madison Avenue) and San Francisco (Walnut Creek) starting August 7. On August 21, Coffee Blossom Honey and Coffee Blossom Honey Syrup will also be available nationwide on Nespresso.com. Only limited quantities of Honey Bloom products are available due to the first harvest’s size. To explore the sweet side of Nespresso, including recipe inspiration and more, visit https://www.nespresso.com/us/en/bloom-honey.

Innovation with the Nestle R+D Lausanne Accelerator

Nespresso Bloom has been developed in partnership with the Nestlé R+D Accelerator in Lausanne, Switzerland. The Accelerator program is designed to empower entrepreneurs, enabling them to shape the future of food by integrating cutting-edge scientific discoveries and technological advancements with a consumer-centric approach. This ambitious project focuses on understanding, measuring, and supporting the transition to regenerative agriculture by implementing robust scientific tracking systems on Nespresso AAA farms.

Three of seven climate models suggest possibility of La Niña by October

0
La Niña El Niño Alert Enso Indian Ocean Dipole influence
The El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is currently neutral.

MELBOURNE, Australia – Sea surface temperatures (SSTs) in the central equatorial Pacific Ocean are ENSO-neutral, following a steady cooling from El Niño levels since December 2023, reports the Bureau of Meteorology of the Australian Government in its latest update.

This cooling is being sustained by deep waters surfacing in the central and eastern Pacific. However, the rate and extent of cooling both at and below the surface has decreased since May. Atmospheric patterns, including cloud and trade winds, are currently ENSO-neutral.

ENSO is likely to remain neutral until at least early austral spring. Three of 7 climate models suggest the possibility of SSTs reaching the La Niña threshold (below −0.8 °C) by October. The remaining 4 models suggest a continuation of ENSO-neutral throughout the forecast period.

The ENSO Outlook remains at La Niña Watch. La Niña Watch does not guarantee La Niña development, only that there is about an equal chance of ENSO remaining neutral or La Niña developing during the remainder of 2024.

The Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) is currently neutral. The latest model outlooks indicate that the IOD is likely to remain neutral until at least the end of winter. Three of 5 climate models suggest that during spring, negative IOD development is likely, while 2 forecast a neutral or positive state of the IOD.

Global SSTs have been the warmest on record for each month between April 2023 and June 2024. July 2024 global SSTs were the second-warmest July on record. The current global pattern of warmth differs to historical patterns of SSTs associated with ENSO and IOD. This means future predictions of ENSO and IOD based on SSTs during past events may not be reliable. Phenomena such as ENSO and the IOD are only broad indicators of the expected climate. The long-range forecast provides better guidance on local rainfall and temperature patterns.

The Southern Annular Mode (SAM) is strongly negative (as at 3 August). The index is forecast to remain negative for at least the coming fortnight, beyond which predictability is typically low. During winter, a negative SAM typically increases the likelihood of rain-bearing fronts across southern Australia and decreases rainfall influenced by onshore flow in parts of the east.

The Madden–Julian Oscillation (MJO) is currently indiscernible (as at 3 August). The majority of models suggest a weak pulse of the MJO may briefly emerge in the Western Hemisphere and Africa in early August, with the remainder forecasting a weak or indiscernible signal to continue. A weak MJO has little impact on Australian rainfall.
