Paytm, India’s largest mobile commerce firm has entered into a partnership with the most popular fast food restaurants in the country- Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee and Vaango. As a part of the association, customers can now pay at these restaurants using the Paytm mobile wallet.

With this move, Paytm makes additional headway in enhancing the adoption of its digital wallet for payments at brick and mortar stores in the country.

Amit Lakhotia, Vice President, Paytm said, “Being the leading player in the mobile wallet domain, we are constantly endeavouring to give our customers more use cases for the wallet. By partnering with KFC and Pizza Hut, our customer base will be able to use the mobile wallet conveniently across these outlets in lieu of cash. Our mission is to make the Paytm Wallet the chosen mode for all offline and online payments in India.”

Ankit Ghai, National Head – Strategic Alliances & Partnership, Devyani international Ltd. said, “We are thrilled to partner with India’s largest digital wallet. Through this association with Paytm, we can now offer our customers the convenience of paying with a single touch on their mobile devices. This move will facilitate faster payments at our outlets across the country.”

For payments at these restaurants with Paytm, the merchant has to key in the customer’s mobile number on an app, which immediately generates a one-time password (OTP) on the customer’s phone. When this OTP is entered on the app, the money is deducted from the customer’s mobile wallet.

Currently, Paytm has more than 20,000 merchants who accept payments through Paytm Wallet. Some of the key merchants where the Paytm Wallet is accepted include Uber, IRCTC, Zomato, Food Panda, Taxi for Sure, Makemytrip and more. The RBI approved secure mobile wallet clocks over 75 million orders per month.
