“We are pleased to know and welcome AFBI’s partnership with Allegro Beverage Corporation in staging the 2014 Philippine National Barista Championship,” comments Cynthia Ludviksen, Managing Director of World Coffee Events.
“The World Barista Championship aims to spread enthusiasm and passion for specialty coffee and draw more attention and respect for Baristas in the industry. The 2nd PNBC will enable Filipino coffee enthusiasts to better appreciate the technical skills, knowledge, and training required to create their favourite specialty beverages,” notes Ms. Ludviksen.

During the competition, Baristas will prepare and serve twelve coffee drinks: four espressos, four cappuccinos and four original espresso-based signature beverages of their own creation, all within a 15-minute timeframe.
Seven Judges, including four Sensory Judges, two Technical Judges and one Head Judge, will evaluate each of the competing Baristas.
The winner of the 2nd PNBC will represent the Philippines in the 2015 World Barista Championship, April 9 to 12, 2015 at the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) Expo in Seattle, USA.
