NEW ORLEANS, USA – PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is making a major investment by opening a new training facility this year in Mandeville, Louisiana. The facility is built out as a mock store to replicate a PJ’s Coffee location, providing an immersive training experience for franchise owners and eventually managers, too.
The facility houses a PJ’s Coffee shop with fully functioning machines, tables and chairs, as well as a conference table and big screen that will be used for meetings and classroom-style instruction sessions.
This center will serve as an area for PJ’s University training conducted monthly, and a room to teach hands-on skills to participants. During their time here, franchisees can expect the following:
- Classroom training covering product ordering, labor management, cost of goods management, point of sale usage and understanding your business financials.
- Hands-on beverage and food handling training behind the counter in the facility.
- An off-site trip to the roasting facility for a “Coffee 101” immersion session and a look at where the magic happens.
Most importantly, franchisees will learn how PJ’s Coffee uses innovation and customized techniques to perfect the specialty flavors.
PJ’s Coffee training facility
“The new training facility will allow us to assist our franchisees in growing their skill set through management training and business classes directly tied to our company’s values,” said PJ’s VP of Operations Patrick Shaheen.
“We understand that franchising is not just about being given the tools to operate your business but also making the most of the resources available to you to unlock the true potential of your business. We want to achieve a more unified leadership style across all stores, and we believe this will get us there.”
“By providing a simulation that meets the look and feel of a real PJ’s Coffee location and integrating it with our existing, comprehensive training framework, we have created a more efficient development program experience for our franchisees” concludes the company in its release.
