Celebrated New Zealand-based tea and coffee specialists Pomeroy’s has crossed the ditch to open its first Australian venue in Queensland. Pomeroy’s Australia is owned and operated by Nathan and Lahnie Ward under the watchful eye of kiwi creator and world coffee judge, Hayden Thompson and his mother Leigh Thompson.
Often playing second fiddle to its perkier sister, coffee, tea is habitually an afterthought in cafes with drinkers generally lucky to have the choice between a green, herbal and a traditional variety.
Pomeroy’s Australia, on the other hand, is dedicated to the experience of specialty tea as well as coffee and has more than 20 different blends including oolongs, flavoured greens and summery cold-brewed fruit teas.
The teas are brewed in a Hario tea dripper and arrive at the table ready to drink with no steeping required.
