FANO, PU, Italy – Ultramar Caffè S.r.l., company of the Ultramar Invest Group, has fully established itself in the field of companies that pack single-dose capsules of coffee, of powder products and of tea with private label.
The coffee world is a widely known reality to the Ultramar Invest holding company, thanks to its commitment, in what is the second essential component to obtain an excellent coffee: excellent water.
Ultramar Invest, thanks to the valuable know-how of Oltremare S.p.A., the other controlled company, has developed an innovative water treatment system for professional espresso machines, which uses special nano filtration membranes, integrated inside the espresso machine.
The system, patented and under exclusive use, uses the same volumetric pump of the professional machine, produces softened water and with low salinity, devoid of bacterial load, of organic substances and of heavy metals, leaving the water with a neutral pH.
Thanks to this innovative system, softeners are eliminated, bringing a significant cost saving also in terms of maintenance.

Marco Nava, Chief Executive Officer of the companies of the Group, wished to emphasise that the commitment in this new challenge is strong and decisive, in the respect of the Ultramar Invest Group tradition.
Ultramar Caffè S.r.l. started its activity with an initial investment of about Euro 8 million in a new real estate complex owned by the Group, consisting of a covered area of about 7,500 square meters and an open area of about 10,000 square meters.
The capsule packaging system is innovative and is divided into three production lines, to which a fourth line has been added, ready to enter for operation by next spring. This system will increase the total daily production capacity surpassing the quota of 1 million capsules, reaching over 500 million capsules per year.
The packaging lines have been designed and developed to give customers the best results in terms of customization product: a wide range of types of capsules (Nespresso© compatible and Nestle Dolce Gusto© compatible) and customized packaging.
The roasting plant, capable of toasting over 10 tons of raw coffee daily, is integrated with the packaging system and it is also possible to use it for the roasting of the raw coffee provided by the customer.
The packaging of the self-protected capsules takes place in a controlled atmosphere with nitrogen injection, produced by the integrated owned plant, in order to ensure the maximum efficiency in terms of quality and cost optimization.
With the same nitrogen injection system the 4 silos of the ground coffee degassing are controlled, the total capacity of which is equal to about 10 tons.
The service offered to the customer is addressed also to the research and selection of products to be packaged in capsules. In addition to the 10 coffee blends already available, the company can offer 20 blends of powder products, 10 blends of granulates and 15 blends of products in leaves (tea, infusions and herbal teas).
Ultramar Caffè S.r.l., like emblazoned multinational and large enterprises, has the FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certification, which is essential to ensure the control of its productive and packaging systems.
Ultramar Caffè S.r.l. is certified “BIO” for the food packaging from organic agriculture.
In the coming months, Ultramar Caffè will complete its research and development activity, prior to the launch of the single-portion products in the market, thanks to an innovative and revolutionary multi beverage system for the industry.
