MILAN, Italy – Simple, silent yet functional – the Pro-Fondi is the Ambrodesign-patented electrical device that quickly removes coffee grounds and optimally cleans professional espresso machine filters. Its effectiveness speaks for itself as over 7000 devices have been sold in Italy and abroad.
The client list includes roasters and chains, both of which care about the quality of the end-cup result and the wellbeing of their baristas.
Now, eight years after its launch, the device has been updated, with new styling and several new features that make it even more barista and customer friendly.
The design of the new Pro-Fondi EVO is refined yet simple; there are no sharp edges or protrusions, which makes it easy to clean. The front boasts three new features: two photocell sensors and a touch button.
The photocell sensors automatically activate the motor when the barista moves their hand to clean the filter holder; thanks to these new additions, the contact springs have been removed. The touch button has an ON/OFF function and is connected to a circuit board that controls the device’s operating status in real time and signals any anomalies.
Another important innovation is the cleaning cycle time: it takes no longer than 2 seconds, after which the circuit stops. This is the maximum time required for the thorough cleaning of the filter, thus preventing excess energy from being consumed or overuse due to distractions.
Furthermore, the Pro-Fondi EVO features a new 54 or 58 mm-diameter springless polyurethane impeller that thoroughly cleans the filters. This impeller has a long service life and has replaced the use of the springs in the previous version; it should be replaced periodically.
These new innovations have melded with the features and advantages that have always set the Pro-Fondi apart, such as: its quiet operation thanks to the absence of a knock-out drawer and a low-voltage, quiet motor (12 V); its ergonomics: the used coffee does not need to be knocked out, so there is no strain on the hands, wrists or forearms; its ease of use: this makes the Pro-Fondi an ideal device for any bar.
Just like the first version, the Pro-Fondi EVO seamlessly supports the workloads of high-volume businesses. It can quickly be installed next to the espresso machine: simply drill a 12 mm-diameter hole in the counter, insert the device and attach a bag underneath, so that the coffee grounds can fall into the bag and any dust is contained. In addition to the built-in version, there is also an external version with dimensions akin to the classic knock-out drawer.
