MILAN – After having brought a bit of warmth to a Swedish winter day by melting the snow in Helsingborg with Rancilio Specialty RS1 steam wands, the Barista League takes off for Croatia to join the fun at Coffee Weekend, the festival that is all set to animate Zagreb from 24 to 26 May.

Under the spotlights, in the atmosphere of music, beer, coffee and organized chaos typical of all memorable parties, the Rancilio Specialty RS1 will be playing alongside all contestants, in its role as official sponsor of the Barista League 2019, while placing all the advantages of its extraction technology at the service of the competition.

Apart from the Barista League evening event, due to take place from 18 to 22 h on 24 May in the charming setting of Zagreb’s Glyptotheque and its enchanting sculpture garden, RS1 will be the unquestioned protagonist of the Coffee Weekend’s programme of events.

An event within the event, since the Coffee Weekend is part of the wider context of the Restaurants and Bars Weekend. Today, Zagreb is one of the most dynamic cities of the Balkan area and stands out in the peninsula for the lively and original events it puts on for the Ho.Re.Ca trade.

A Masterclass with Saša Šestić

RS1 will be on the main stage of the Festival with Saša Šestić, World Champion Barista of 2015, the founder and life and soul of Ona Coffee in Canberra Australia.

As “The Coffee Man”, he will be highlighting the salient features of Rancilio Specialty RS1 before the public of Coffee Weekend with a must-see Barista Masterclass scheduled for Friday 24 May at 15 h.

Saša Šestić’s demonstration will showcase the extraction technology and recount the possible advantages for baristas who choose to work with Advanced Temperature Profiling, a unique tool for unleashing the spirit of each and every coffee bean and taking it to amazing and unprecedented results in terms of extraction.

On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May, from 10 to 18 h, RS1 will be at the counter of the Brew Bar, an area dedicated to roasters and baristas who will take turns to exhibit their skills and show the public how to obtain the best sensorial profile for each coffee bean, from roasting to extraction.

For all those wishing to further explore the world of Specialty Coffee, there will be round tables hosting trade experts. One such expert is Andrew Bettis – Coffee Specialist for Rancilio Group – who will meet the public to recount the Rancilio-patented coffee extraction technology.
