Renewed Fazer Café opens its doors in the Itäkeskus shopping centre in Helsinki

Shopping centre Itis attracts approximately 15 million visitors annually. During the past year, the shopping centre has undergone a major renovation and invested especially in experiential services. One of these is the market hall to be opened in the shopping centre. The market hall will be the only one of its kind in Finland

HELSINKI, Finland – On Friday 17 May 2024, Fazer opened the renewed Fazer Café in the Itäkeskus shopping centre in Helsinki. The renewed café is located in the middle of the shopping centre. itis, one of Finland’s largest shopping centres, is already familiar to Fazer Café’s customers, as the well-known café has been an integral part of the shopping centre for more than ten years.

Now Fazer Café will move to the market hall on the same floor, about 100 metres ahead.

“Itis offers our renewed Fazer Café a great setting in a central location. With the renewal, an even wider range of customers will be able to enjoy our high-quality café products and friendly customer service,” says Miika Kostilainen, Managing Director for Fazer Retail Finland and responsible for the Fazer Café operations.

“We open already at 7.30 a.m. on weekdays, when we serve a comprehensive breakfast. A fresh salad is an excellent lunch option, and coffee is well accompanied by our delicious shrimp and cold-smoked salmon sandwiches, as well as fresh handmade buns and classic pastries from our own bakery.”

Fazer Café Itis seats 60 people and is open every day of the week.

Fazer Cafés specialise in their own cakes, such as Fazer Blue milk chocolate cake, as well as coffee drinks flavoured with familiar confectionery brands, Fazer Blue Cappuccino and Geisha latte. The beloved Fazer Blue celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2022, and with the anniversary year, the milk chocolate cake became the best-selling cake of all time.

There are already 21 Fazer Cafés in Finland

There are 21 Fazer Cafés in Finland, with the latest opening in March in the Koskikeskus shopping centre in Tampere. Karl Fazer started his French-Russian café on Kluuvikatu in Helsinki 133 years ago. Karl Fazer was a visionary confectioner whose courage and entrepreneurial spirit still inspire Fazer’s operations.

In addition to the Helsinki metropolitan area, Fazer Cafés are located in Tampere and Turku.
