BIRMINGHAM, Ala., U.S. – Royal Cup Coffee & Tea (Royal Cup), a leading importer, roaster and distributor of premium and specialty coffees and tea, yesterday announced that Anne Pritz, former chief marketing officer (CMO) of Sbarro, has joined the company as its new CMO, effective November 28, 2016.

Pritz brings to the position more than 10 years of experience leading marketing and brand-strategy initiatives for major brands in the food and beverage industry. Pritz will join Royal Cup’s leadership team, and report directly to its Chief Executive Officer, Bill Smith.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Pritz to the Royal Cup family, especially during such an exciting time of growth and innovation for our company,” said Bill Smith.

“Her proven leadership in strategy, product marketing and program development will better position Royal Cup to provide innovative beverage solutions that positively impact our partners’ revenue, customer experience and brand equity.”

Pritz began her career at Tim Hortons Café & Bake Shop, where she served as a marketing coordinator and then as a regional marketing manager.

She subsequently was promoted to senior manager of U.S. marketing, leading and executing the Tim Hortons’ regional and national marketing campaigns for the franchise business.

Pritz’s cross-functional role in the implementation of the U.S. strategic plan beginning in 2007 resulted in the company-wide adoption of Tim Horton’s Café & Bake Shop. This positioning carried through into their international footprint.

In early 2014, Mrs. Pritz joined Sbarro as CMO where she led the development, implementation and analysis of the marketing strategy for all brands in the 800+ store chain, domestically and internationally.

During her time with Sbarro, she oversaw the company’s rebranding and repositioning efforts of the international QSR pizza chain, as well as developing the branding and marketing strategy behind two new concepts, Off-Mall Sbarro, a delivery model, and Cucinova, a fast-casual pizza restaurant.

“I am grateful and honored for the opportunity to serve as chief marketing officer for Royal Cup – a highly respected leader in the food and beverage industry, whose founding principles and core values closely align with my own,” said Pritz.

“Our marketing team will fuse the tremendous power of the company’s strongest assets – great people, innovative products and unrivaled customer service – and leverage them through proven and creative marketing strategies designed to elevate the brand’s profile and further establish Royal Cup as a category leader.”

In her new role, Pritz will oversee Royal Cup’s marketing and creative services departments, working with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cohesive and impactful omni-channel marketing strategies.

She will focus her experience and expertise to develop the company’s brand strategically, and implement marketing initiatives for Royal Cup’s consumer-based products and services.
