LIMA – Peru will be the official 2014 Portrait Country in the 26th annual event of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), the 2014 SCAA Exposition, to be held from April 24-26, 2014 in the city of Seattle, United States.
Peru’s export and tourism agency PromPeru and the National Coffee Board will lead a delegation of 14 Peruvian companies from the coffee industry to this world’s largest specialty coffee event.
The three-day event will bring together thousands of coffee roasters, retailers and enthusiasts from around the world.
In a statement published on Sunday,PromPeru said that its main objective is to further promote the country’s exportable offer of organic and special coffee with the International FAIRTRADE Certification Mark, which appears on products as an independent guarantee that a product has been produced according to Fairtrade political standards.
Over the last two centuries, Peru has become one of the top exporters of coffee around the world.
This success stems from our variety of climates, responsible management of our coffee fields, and permanent quality and productivity controls.
All of these factors result in coffees of the highest quality, grown with utmost care by the hands of family farmers.
