LONG BEACH, Calif. U.S.A. – The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) has announced today that Dr. Timothy Schilling has resigned from the SCAA Board of Directors to focus on his ongoing work with World Coffee Research (WCR) and thanks him.
As the work of World Coffee Research progresses, the need for Tim to dedicate himself fully to this crucial industry role led to an open spot on the board, which will be filled by Tracy Ging, the director of sustainability and social responsibility for S&D Coffee and Tea. “Tracy’s unique qualifications and expertise will be of immense value to the strategic leadership of the SCAA and we look forward to welcoming her to the Board of Directors,” said SCAA’s executive director Ric Rhinehart.
Ging’s appointment to the SCAA Board comes at a time when issues of sustainability are taking on increased importance. “SCAA is focused on sustainable development and as such, this is a particularly important time for S&D to enhance its commitment to the organization,” says Ging.
“We absolutely share a sense of urgency around issues such as economic viability for smallholder farmers, climate change risks, and the need for more strategic and coordinated approaches. Serving SCAA in this capacity is a way to collaborate and work with the industry to progress solutions.” To read more about Ging and find contact information for all members of the Board of Directors, please visit
