The competitions will be staged in the Coffee Arena, located in the centre of Rimini Expo Centre, close to the south entrance, which will host initiatives specifically for the industry of one of the world’s best-loved and most popular beverages.

An intense programme of events – with talks and training sessions and a special training programme aimed at young students from hotel and catering institutes on Wednesday – organised with the collaboration of the exhibiting companies themselves, media partners, research centres, experts and important national and international institutional partners.

As proof of the strategic role played by the coffee supply chain, the 44th edition of Sigep will see the most prestigious European brands in attendance, guaranteeing an exhaustive overview of the most popular varieties, procedures, technologies, equipment and techniques on international markets.

Returning to the topic of preparations, let’s take a closer look at the SCA Italy competitions that, under the watchful eye of a national and international jury, will see coffee artists and experts competing to qualify for the World Coffee Championships international circuit:

The participants, who will prepare 3 drinks each to be served to 3 sensory judges, will have to try not only to make a good coffee but also to prepare it correctly with a solid value that the judges will measure using a ‘refractometer’. The championship is a qualifying round for the WBC (World Brewers Cup).
