SAN ANTONIO, USA – The San Antonio Spurs and Estate Coffee Company are collaborating to serve up a specialty “Por Vida Coffee Roast” that fans can brew at home. This Mexican roast showcases Estate Coffee, a local roaster based in San Antonio’s Dignowity neighborhood, and celebrates being part of the Spurs family as a lifestyle beyond the court.
Estate Coffee Company is a small-batch craft coffee roaster founded by Brian LaBarbera. They believe in sourcing the best coffee by working with family-owned importers and applying excellent roasting standards to ensure a perfect cup.
The Por Vida coffee beans are sourced from the buffer zone of El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve located in the highlands of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas in Mexico.
The reserve contains Mesoamerica’s largest continuous cloud forest, and it serves as a refuge to thousands of plant and animal species. As for flavor, the Por Vida roast offers hints of mellow citrus with almond and cocoa.
“Estate Coffee Company is thrilled to help bring this special project to life and excited to collaborate with the Spurs on a Por Vida Coffee Roast,” said LaBarbera. “This offering blends ethical and responsible farming in Mexico with a local roasting process that uniquely connects our communities.”
Beginning on Friday, October 28, fans can purchase the new Por Vida Coffee Roast online from Estate Coffee Company or in person at 1320 E. Houston. Each 12-ounce bag will retail for $18.
The Spurs Fan Shop will also host a pre-game tasting for fans ahead that evening’s game as the Silver and Black host the Chicago Bulls.
“We are excited about this fun and creative way to connect with our Spurs family through a local business,” said Becky Kimbro, SVP of Brand Engagement for Spurs Sports & Entertainment.
“Estate Coffee Company cares about their product’s process from beginning to end and delivers a high-quality craft coffee that celebrates our multicultural ‘Por Vida’ fanbase.”
