MILAN – Ariana Grande has teamed up with Starbucks to launch the ‘Cloud Macchiato’ in celebration of International Women’s Day. Fans started to freak out when Ariana hinted at the collaboration on March 4, sending cloud and coffee emojis.
Unlike some of their other drinks that have been released recently, the Cloud Macchiato is a permanent addition to their menu, so fans don’t have to worry about only having a limited time to go try it out.
The “cloud” component comes from Starbucks’s trademarked cold foam, which was introduced in 2014.
It also comes from Grande’s Twitter account, which has more than 62 million followers, from which she tweeted the cloud emoji 98 times in 2018, including nine times in a single tweet teasing the release of her July single “God Is a Woman.”
The Cloud Macchiato comes in two flavors: cinnamon and caramel. Both drinks taste extremely fluffy thanks to a meringue-like cloud texture on top made of milk foam. Below the foam sits two espresso shots; on top of the caramel drink there’s a crosshatch drizzle of caramel sauce (it’s made for the ‘gram). The drinks come with Starbucks’ strawless lid.
