MILAN – Starbucks Vietnam on December 29 introduced Starbucks Reserve Vietnam Da Lat, its first single-origin coffee from the country, which is on sale at its Vietnamese stores since Monday. Starbucks Reserve coffees are specialty coffees from small lots that are roasted to a signature profile to bring out each coffee’s unique flavours.

Every year Starbucks coffee buyers travel to coffee-growing regions – from the faraway highlands in Papua New Guinea to the coast of Galapagos Islands in Ecuador – to find and purchase some of the world’s finest arabica coffee beans

Starbucks Reserve Vietnam Da Lat is known to have a bright refreshing acidity that brings out the flavours of kola nut, toffee and vanilla.

Patricia Marques, general manager of Starbucks Vietnam, told reporters on Sunday that the company had worked with farmers and distributors for seven years before its launch.

“Starbucks Reserve Vietnam Da Lat honours Vietnam’s rich coffee heritage and traditions, as well as the local farmers who have elevated the country’s specialty-grade Arabica coffee to the global stage,” Marques said.

Vietnam Da Lat coffee is grown in Cau Dat District, Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province. This coffee was first made available in select Starbucks stores in the US and other countries in July 2015.

Starbucks opened its first store in HCM City in February, 2013 and now it has 18 stores nationwide.

Customers who make any purchase at a Vietnamese Starbucks store between 7am and 10am on January 4 will be offered a cup of Vietnam Da Lat coffee.
