LIMA, Peru – Peruvian coffee is ready to captivate European palates once again with the relaunch of “Starbucks Origin Espresso Peru Cusco,” now back in more than 65 Starbucks stores across Spain, the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) reported on Monday.

The coffee chain giant thus re-launched its Peru coffee promotional campaign, which reached over 2,000 coffee shops in 20 European countries in 2015, Peru’s Trade Office in Madrid (Ocex Madrid) revealed.

Offering a rich complexity of flavors in each sip, the Inca country’s coffee will stay in Starbucks shelves through the spring of 2017.

“Starbucks Origin Espresso Peru Cusco” is the coffeehouse’s line featuring Peruvian arabica coffee, a variety grown at 1,600 m.a.s.l. in Quillabamba (Cusco region).

Its well-balanced almond flavor, good acidity and unique roasting make it perfect to drink with or without milk.

Spanish Starbucks goers can enjoy the limited-edition line both in-store or through 250g bags for €6.20.

As the main specialty coffee retailer in the world, Starbucks’ global presence comprises more than 22,000 stores in 66 countries.

Coffee exports

Peru’s coffee exports totaled US$761 million in 2016, Mincetur data revealed.

Main destinations were the United States (US$218 million), Germany (US$194 million), Belgium (US$80 million), Sweden (US$41 million) and Canada (US$36 million).
