The day after the opening of the exhibition “From these hands: a journey along the coffee trail” at the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci of Milano, the American photographer Steve McCurry held a lectio magistralis at Palazzo Italia inside Expo Milano 2015.
The 62 pictures on show at the museum in Milan describe the photographer’s thirty-years-long journey in 12 Countries worldwide, most of them being large coffee producers.
Telling about the genesis of his pictures, Steve McCurry talked about the strong connection between his personal search and the message of the Universal Exposition.
Within the project supported by Francesca Lavazza, iTierra, McCurry investigated the importance of coffee cultivation, distribution and consumption models in the Countries where it is produced.
The faces, stories, characters of the lands of coffee will be on show at the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci in Milan until July 5th.
