It’s International Coffee Day this coming Sunday 1st October. Starting on Friday, 29 September, and culminating on Sunday, 1 October 2017, the 77 Member States of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) and dozens of coffee associations from around the globe come together to celebrate the third annual ICD.

ICD was first celebrated on October 1st, 2015. On this day, the International Coffee Organization launched the official holiday with the intent to promote fair trade coffee and to provide support for coffee growers experiencing unfair treatment and hardship.

International Coffee Day is a global celebration of coffee’s journey from the farm to your local shop — an opportunity to honour the men and women who grow and harvest the coffee we love,” says the ICO.

Last year, nearly 130 events from 54 countries were posted on the ICD website.

Also this year, there are dozens of promotions at coffee spots and events happening around the world. How will you celebrate ICD 2017?
