KARLSTAD – Löfbergs secures its leading position in the Swedish Out of Home market. In a joint procurement, Nordic Choice and Compass Group chooses to prolong their agreement with the family-owned coffee roaster. Except for a lot of good coffee, the agreement involves a unique investment in sustainability.

“This is, of course, about organic and Fairtrade coffee, but we are also making targeted climate compensation in a region of coffee production,” says Anders Jonsson, purchasing manager at Nordic Choice.

“We will also be pursuing an ethical project together. We are looking at different alternatives right now; it will be a long-term investment in one of the countries that our coffee comes from,” says Karl Elmstedt, purchasing manager at Compass Group.

100% sustainability

Löfbergs, which puts a lot of energy into its sustainability work, welcomes the commitment of Nordic Choice and Compass Group.

“This is a receipt that the market appreciates us offering coffee that tastes good as well as does good. At the same time, it shows that both our customers and we want and know how to make a difference when it comes to sustainability,” says Per Grahn, sales director at Löfbergs.

Löfbergs is one of the world’s largest importers of organic and Fairtrade labelled coffee. By 2016, all coffee from Löfbergs will come from certified farms. The company has already reached a milestone; as from March 1, all coffee delivered to hotels, restaurants and cafés is certified.

Nordic Choice Hotels is the leading hotel chain in the Nordic countries with more than 170 hotels in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Latvia. Nordic Choice Hotels market their hotels under the brands of Comfort, Quality, Quality Resort, Clarion, Clarion Collection and Nordic Hotel & Resort.
