ZURICH – A new branch of US coffee chain Starbucks has opened at Zurich Airport. The store has been brought by SSP, an operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations and 125 square metre coffee house is located in the departure hall at Gate Dock A70.

The menu features traditional espresso specialities such as Caffè Latte, Cappuccino and Caramel Macchiatto.

The outlet also sells snacks including freshly-made sandwiches and wraps, croissants and muffins or traditional pound cake with Belgian chocolate.

Cornelius Everke, CEO of SSP DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) says he welcoms the opening of the Starbucks store in Zurich.

“ Zurich Airport offers its passengers a very attractive range of premium restaurants. We are delighted to be able to contribute our gastronomic expertise and attractive concepts to help it achieve ever higher standards, and this has been the fourth major investment project at the airport in 2013.

“The new Starbucks store, which offers passengers a “third place” between their home, office or vacation destination, will do much to enhance the experience of passengers at the terminal,” Everke added.

SSP has operated the Starbucks brand since 2008, when it opened its first branch in Switzerland at Geneva Airport.

The next opening at Zurich Airport is scheduled for sometime in the summer.
