Te & Kaffi was established in 1984 by Berglind Gudbrandsdottir and Sigmundur Dyrfjord and the company is known in Iceland as the pioneer of specialty coffee.

Te & Kaffi operates its own roastery, a chain of 11 gourmet coffeehouses and a wholesale business which focuses on coffee, loose tea, coffee machines and other related products.
Te & Kaffi only uses the highest quality of the very best crops from all over the world.

The roastery is equipped with state of the art equipment as well as having knowledgeable roasting staff with the ambition to maximize the quality of the raw material.

They make their coffees only using the slow roast method that preserves the natural oils of the coffee beans, keeping the aroma and flavour of their specialty coffees. All coffees are packed instantly in bags with a one way valve that helps preserving the quality.

All the production is made to order which reduces the shelf life and helps to maintain freshness of the coffee.

These changes along with investments in the roastery to boost production capability gave the company a great return in higher sales and greater marketing awareness and reputation.

In 2004 Te & Kaffi started selling their coffee on the retail market and gradually increased sales over the next decade carefully reading the needs of the market.
