AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands — Ascaso Factory’s coffee machine Big Dream has earned The Best New Product award at the World of Coffee competition in Amsterdam.
The Big Dream’s 100% stainless steel interior has made this coffee machine the best new product at the competition’s 18th edition.
‘Replacing copper and brass with stainless steel, daring to challenge 100 years of espresso history, has enabled us to create a healthier, more sustainable and more efficient product with a longer useful life. We thoroughly believed in this concept and have dedicated more than four years in bringing it to fruition. We’re very excited to have earned this type of recognition at WOC2018′ – José Luis Ascaso, Ascaso Factory CEO.
Big Dream
The first espresso machine in the world, built completely in Stainless Steel inside. All components are stainless steel, replacing the copper and brass of traditional machines.
Why stainless steel?
Brass and copper have been used (and still are) as main materials in coffee machines components for over 100 years. Technical characteristics of these materials show us that thermal stability, energy efficiency, mechanical resistance and scale deposit formation in the components are not optimal.
Is there any material which dramatically improves the copper and brass properties?
Is there any energy-efficient, thermally stable, anti-scale, with high mechanic resistance and 100% healthy material?
Is there any possibility of a pure coffee, without presence of heavy metals altering its taste?
It is stainless steel, the most efficient, enduring and compelling product in the metallurgy.
The use of this material provides the Big Dream espresso machine with innovative features:
- Hard-wearing and long-lasting: Longer product life cycle.
- Anti-limescale. No limescale build up, which causes 70% of all repairs.
- Sustainable: energy savings of up to 40% compared to traditional machines. Requires less power to maintain temperature.
- Healthy: no heavy metal migration. Pure coffee.
