LONDON. UK – During his participation at the Conference of the Parties in Paris (COP21), the Executive Director of the ICO, Mr Robério Oliveira Silva (in the picture) , met Mr Juan Orlando Hernández, President of Honduras, and Mr Juan Manuel Santos, President of Colombia. H.E. Mr Ivan Romero Martinez, Ambassador of Honduras to the United Kingdom, Mr Arturo Corrales, Minister of Foreign Affairs for Honduras, and Ms Maria Angela Holguin, Minister of Foreign Affairs for Colombia also took part in the meeting.
The Heads of State of Honduras and Colombia expressed their concern about the volatility of the coffee market and the adverse effects on small farmers in their countries and around the world.
Mr Silva noted that the ICO is prepared to work with Members to find solutions to the challenges presented by the instability of the markets.
