Fellini at the Great Sigep: in the year of the centenary of the birth of the Immortal cinema genius, the Municipality of Rimini, with the exhibition “Fellini100”, being held at Castel Sismondo, and numerous other dedicated initiatives, highlights the story and work of the immense Maestro of international cinema.
The great exhibition, opened on 14th December and running until 15th March before moving to Rome in April and then abroad, reaching Los Angeles, Moscow and Berlin, is also promoted at Sigep, the International Trade Show of Artisan Gelato, Pastry, Bakery and the Coffee World which Italian Exhibition Group held in its Rimini Expo Centre from 18th to 22nd January.
At Sigep, a “sweet foretaste” of the exhibition
In fact, at Sigep, a “sweet foretaste” of the exhibition that contains unreleased images, unique photographs, shots of memories of Fellini and his films will be shown to visitors, buyers and exhibitors on two huge billboards located at the south entrance gates. But that’s not all!
The video “Fellini100” will be screened, for all five expo days, on the video walls of the event areas between conferences, initiatives by Master Chefs and guests and other activities. More in detail, it will be screened in the Vision Plaza (South Foyer), the Gelato Arena (under the cupola), the Coffee Arena (Hall D1), the Bakery Arena (Hall D4) and in the Pastry Arena (Hall B5).
In the outdoor area on the other hand, between the portico and the four columns in front of the South Foyer, an evening aperitif will be held with the notes of Fellini’s film soundtracks playing in the background.
The presence of “Fellini100” and the works of the Great director was also at the heart of two special events
At the opening ceremony in the Gelato Arena, during the inaugural greetings by Rimini’s mayor, space was dedicated to the projection of the Fellini video and, immediately after, at the ribbon cutting ceremony a gigantic cake – nine feet high – was dedicated to the director, specially prepared by the Academy of Italian Master Pastry Chef presided by the great master pastry chef Gino Fabbri. The flavour was trifle – Fellini’s favourite.
At the inauguration, there was also a monumental cup of gelato, made by Master Gelato Makers of the Gelato World Cup, surmounted by an ice sculpture of the character of Gradisca from the film Amarcord and a bread sculpture with cinema as its theme.
Moreover, master pastry chef Roberto Rinaldini will prepare a cake with Fellini as its theme, commissioned by Municipality, for the evening of Monday 20th January at the city’s Galli Theatre.
Also on 20th January, Fellini’s birthday, in the Bakery Arena, bakers will present thematic sculptures, while in the Pastry Arena the works of the director will be featured in the demos of several master pastry chefs.
Lastly, IEG will also promote visits to the Fellini100 exhibition and the Galli Theatre with international trade members to enable international attendees at SIGEP and A. B. Tech Expo 2020 to experience the city and the works and genius of the Great Maestro.
