BOULDER, Colo., U.S. – This holiday season, The Tea Spot has teamed up with Can’d Aid to show appreciation of teachers and staff and to encourage wellness at two local elementary schools – FM Day Elementary in Denver and Winona Elementary in Loveland, Colo.

Can’d Aid, based in Longmont, Colo., is a non-profit organization that spreads people powered do-goodery through Towns, Tunes, Treads + Trails and Love Yur Mama efforts nationwide.

The Tea Spot, based in Louisville, Colo., is a leading producer of handcrafted whole leaf teas and Steepware, and the company donates 10 percent of all sales in-kind to cancer survivors and community wellness programs.

The Tea Spot will be donating more than 175 Stoneware Ceramic Teapots and more than 175 boxes of pyramid tea sachets, all packed in special tote bags as gifts to teachers and staff. They’ll be donating these tea products alongside Can’d Aid’s bike donations to students at the two schools. In total, Can’d Aid has built more than 3,600 bikes and 500 skateboards for kids since the foundation’s inception in 2013.

Maria Uspenski, the founder and CEO of The Tea Spot and author of Cancer Hates Tea , said, “We’re thrilled to join Can’d Aid’s efforts by supporting teachers and staff with a small gift of appreciation to encourage wellness. Tea offers many benefits, including keeping you healthy, happy and hydrated — which can benefit any hardworking professional, such as teachers. Of course, Can’d Aid’s bike donations also promote wellness by inspiring kids to get outside and be active.”

Can’d Aid is nationally recognized as a game changer in the way people build community. Their unique, grassroots model mobilizes people of all walks of life for “people powered do-goodery.” In addition to bike donations, more than 1.6 million cans of water have been shipped post-disaster, more than 2,000 instruments have been donated to public schools, and the equivalent of 59 million cans recycled.

“We were excited when The Tea Spot reached out because it allows us to not only positively impact the students at these schools, but the over-worked staff as well,” said Diana Ralston, executive director of Can’d Aid. “We look forward to partnering on more projects and bringing even more joy in the new year.”
