MILAN – The 2021 World Latte Art Championship (WLAC), World Coffee In Good Spirits Championship (WCIGS), and World Coffee Roasting Championship (WCRC) are heading to the Taiwan International Coffee Show. This will be the second time the WCRC has taken place during the Taiwan International Coffee Show, and World Coffee Events and the Specialty Coffee Association are excited to be bringing even more competitions to the amazing community gathering at the show, held at Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei on November 19-22, 2021.

As part of this scheduling, the 2021 World Coffee Championships season will be set, with the World Brewers Cup joining the World Barista Championship, World Cup Tasters, and Cezve/Ibrik Championship at the Specialty Coffee Association’s World of Coffee Athens event, from June 24-26.

The World Coffee Championships (WCC) are produced by World Coffee Events, a subsidiary of the Specialty Coffee Association. The World Latte Art Championship (WLAC) recognizes the best latte artists through multiple rounds of drinks and designs they must pour, both on-stage, and for the audience at the Art Bar. The World Coffee In Good Spirits Championship (WCIGS) highlights the combination of coffee and alcohol, awarding those who best blend the craft of barista and bartender. The World Coffee Roasting Championship (WCRC) is the newest of the World Coffee Championships, and it focuses on the craft of the roaster, giving competitors multiple days to sample-roast selections from a shared set of green coffees, make production roasting plans, and then execute their production roasts.

World Coffee Events is excited to work with the Taiwan Coffee Association and the Taiwan International Coffee Show as the World Coffee Championships return to Taiwan. Taiwan has a strong specialty coffee culture, with an estimated 4,000 roasters according to the Taiwan Coffee Association, and fifteen World Coffee Championship finalists; including Berg Wu, 2016 World Barista Champion; Chad Wang, 2017 World Brewers Cup Champion; Pang-Yu Liu, 2014 World Cup Tasters Champion; and Jacky Lai, 2014 World Coffee Roasting Champion. The Taiwan International Coffee Show will gather together many different people from throughout the coffee value chain together, and they will have the chance to witness the best competitors from across the globe at the World Coffee Championships.
