OAKVILLE, ON, Canada – In true, patriot love, Tim Hortons is sending a beloved Canadian specialty to Seattle fans following the recent MLS cup loss to Toronto FC. Don’t worry Seattle, you won’t receive mountains of maple syrup or even piles of Poutine.
Instead, for one day only, members of the Seattle community will receive a free cup of Canada’s Favourite Coffee.*
“With the world more divided than ever, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to put competition aside and extend a cup to our neighbours to the South,” says Sami Siddiqui, President, Tim Hortons Canada. “We know the only real win is when we all win, so we’re thrilled to share some love and a taste of Canada with our friends in Seattle.”
Following a public and friendly wager between Toronto and Seattle’s Mayors during the recent MLS championship game, Tim Hortons wants to return the favour in a big way and extend some Canadian hospitality to the city of Seattle.
Kicking off today, a Tim Hortons Coffee Truck will start its journey south of the border to do what Canadians do best, sharing positivity over a cup of Tim Hortons coffee.
The truck will be in Seattle on December 18.
